U.S. SENATE – U.S. Senator Daines helped introduce a bill to assist Montana children subjected to dangerous and potentially irreversible gender-transition procedures seek justice in court.  “The Left’s radical gender ideology is harming our children and leaving them with physical and mental damage. Gender-transition procedures are irreversible and potentially life-threatening – medical personnel who perform these procedures on minors must be held accountable for their medical malpractice. I’m glad to stand with my colleagues against the lifelong effects of these debilitating experiments on our kids and the doctors who perpetrate the politics of gender ideology through their profession,” Daines said.  Senator Daines joined Senators Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), and James Lankford (R-Okla.) in introducing this bill.

U.S. SENATE — U.S. Senator Steve Daines today issued the following statement after it was announced that Montana will regain a seat in the United States House of Representatives. “Montana’s had the least representation in the U.S. House of Representatives over the last three decades, so I’m glad to see this news. The next step is to ensure the two new congressional districts are fairly drawn and that all Montanans are fairly represented, communities remain intact and efforts to manufacture a gerrymandered district are not accepted. Using commonsense, objective criteria that limits divisions of Montana communities must be prioritized,” Daines said.

U.S. SENATE —U.S. Senator Steve Daines today announced academy nominee Emma Martinsen of Billings, Montana has been offered an appointment to the United States Naval Academy. “Emma is a bright young Montanan that has dreamed of attending the Naval Academy and serving her nation since she was young,” Daines said. “Congratulations, Emma!” Emma graduated from Billings High School in 2020 and is a current student at Georgia Military College on a U.S. Naval Academy Scholarship. In high school, she was an active member of the speech and debate team, track and cross-country team and the orchestra.

U.S. SENATE —U.S. Senator Steve Daines today announced academy nominee Tanner Russell of Kalispell, Montana has been offered an appointment to the United States Naval Academy. “Tanner hopes to follow in his father’s footsteps and serve our country in the United States Marine Corps,” Daines said.  “He will be a great addition to the Naval Academy and I’m glad to see such a promising young Montanan represent our state!” Tanner graduated with a 4.0 grade point average and was Flathead High School’s Class of 2020 Salutatorian. He excelled in the football, rugby, wrestling and track teams while frequently volunteering in his community.

U.S. SENATE – U.S. Senator Steve Daines today cosponsored a bill to award Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman, the man who led the mob away from the U.S. Senate floor on January 6th, with the Congressional Gold Medal. “Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman is an American hero. On January 6th, he helped save the U.S. Senate, the Capitol and our democracy. Officer Goodman deserves the Congressional Gold Medal,” Daines said. On Inauguration Day, Senator Daines was able to catch up with Officer Goodman and thank him for his brave service in person.
