At a U.S. Senate hearing today, Daines raised his concerns that this proposal would be especially burdensome for smaller banks and credit unions in Montana, which would be required to submit additional information to the IRS on nearly all of their customers. Daines to Biden: Continued Closure of Northern Border for Montanans vs Keeping Southern Border Open to Illegal Immigrants is Beyond Hypocritical, Hurting Montana

U.S. SENATE — U.S. Senator Steve Daines released the following statement after President Biden once again extended the closure of the northern border until at least October 21. This extension comes despite the Biden administration keeping the southern border open to historic numbers of illegal immigrants, many potentially unvaccinated.  “Once again, President Biden has ignored the well-being of Montana families and businesses.
