WJHG: New law helps parents travel easier
WASHINGTON (Gray DC) — Haleigh Almquist knows what it’s like to travel with a newborn. “Getting through TSA is probably the hardest part. We always say, ‘Ok we just need to get through security and then we can just relax’” Almquist said. But getting through security isn’t always easy. Almquist said she’s been stopped by TSA agents with her formula or food for her son, Axel. She said, while she knows she’s allowed through with those things, many other parents may not. “Sometimes if there is push back and they don’t know any better they just reluctantly let that go and then

U.S. SENATE —U.S. Senator Steve Daines reintroduced legislation to roll back the regulatory burdens and uncertainty facing too many Montana small businesses. Daines’ bill, the Regulatory Predictability for Business Growth Act, ensures that small businesses aren’t subjected to unexamined and altered regulations that change at the whims of Washington bureaucrats. “When you start a company or are working on growing your business, the last thing you need is the federal government creating more regulations,” Daines stated. “My bill ensures the voices of small business owners are heard when regulations that affect them are being discussed by out-of-state bureaucrats.” The bill requires any interpretative rule

Daines, Sullivan Introduce Measures to Split the Ninth Circuit Court
U.S. SENATE —U.S. Senators Steve Daines (R-MT) and Dan Sullivan (R-AK) today introduced two bills to address failures in America’s system of justice by restructuring the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, which, because of its size and scope, denies citizens in its jurisdiction equal access to justice. The Circuit Court of Appeals Restructuring and Modernization Act would split the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals into two circuits: the Ninth and the Twelfth Circuits. The reconfigured Ninth Circuit would then be comprised of California, Guam, Hawaii, and the Northern Mariana Islands. The new Twelfth Circuit would include Alaska, Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon,
Daines Praises Passage of Measure to Eliminate Anti-Coal Rule
U.S. SENATE —U.S. Senator Steve Daines today praised the U.S. Senate’s passage of a resolution of disapproval to eliminate the Obama administration’s anti-coal so-called “Stream Protection Rule.” This wholly unnecessary and unsupported Obama administration rule would affect both surface and underground coal mines, substantially impairing domestic industry’s ability to meet our nation’s energy needs and devastating Montana’s coal development, which is a pillar of Montana’s economy. Furthermore, the proposed rule was developed without sufficient tribal consultation and consideration of potential harm to Indian tribes’ economies. “This Obama administration policy served to protect bureaucracy while devastating Montana’s coal jobs,” Daines stated. “By eliminating it we
