Daines’ questioning and comments come as the Biden administration continues its war on American made energy, including not holding any new oil and gas lease sales and proposing a $3.5 trillion reckless tax and spending spree filled with Green New Deal priorities. Questions to Treasury Secretary Yellen and Federal Reserve Chair Powell: First,

Daines Demands Investigation Into University of Pittsburgh’s Inhumane Fetal Tissue Research and Abortion Procedures

U.S. SENATE – U.S. Senator Steve Daines today sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra and NIH Director Francis Collins asking for a thorough investigation into the University of Pittsburgh’s inhumane abortion procedures and research. “Exploiting the body parts of aborted children for research purposes is repulsive and should stop, regardless of the outcome hoped for by researchers. Research using abortive fetal tissue is unethical, wrong, and has also been proven ineffective. Despite being used in clinical research since the 1920s, fetal tissue has not produced a single clinical treatment,” the letter states.   Read the letter HERE. Recent reports from the

Daines: Democrats’ Reckless $3.5 Trillion Tax & Spending Spree will Increase Taxes on Montana Workers, Families, Small Businesses

Daines to Biden: Continued Closure of Northern Border for Montanans vs Keeping Southern Border Open to Illegal Immigrants is Beyond Hypocritical, Hurting Montana

U.S. SENATE — U.S. Senator Steve Daines released the following statement after President Biden once again extended the closure of the northern border until at least October 21. This extension comes despite the Biden administration keeping the southern border open to historic numbers of illegal immigrants, many potentially unvaccinated.  “Once again, President Biden has ignored the well-being of Montana families and businesses. Biden’s continued refusal to open the northern border is inexplicable and is devastating Montana border communities and our economy,” Daines said. “While Biden keeps the northern border closed, the southern border is wide open to illegal immigrants, many of whom are potentially unvaccinated, flooding our communities with illegal drugs

Daines Presses Biden Administration for Answers on Vetting Process for Evacuees Out of Afghanistan

U.S. SENATE —  U.S. Senator Steve Daines today pressed Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for clear details on the vetting process used for evacuees out of Afghanistan before they enter the United States to ensure the U.S. is not granting entry to dangerous individuals or child traffickers. “I write to seek more clarity regarding the admission and vetting of refugees and other individuals from Afghanistan. While admitting those who served alongside U.S. forces and those who would face religious persecution is laudable, there is a great deal of public confusion as to the full scope of those who are entering the

Daines Slams Biden Decision to Move BLM Headquarters From Colorado to DC

U.S. SENATE — U.S. Senator Steve Daines slammed President Biden and Department of Interior Secretary Deb Haaland for the decision to move the Bureau of Land Management’s headquarters from Colorado to DC.   “Because of Secretary Ryan Zinke’s leadership, we finally saw the Bureau of Land Management headquartered in the West, with leadership closer to the vast majority of our federal lands and the people impacted by the Bureau’s decisions. By undoing this, President Biden and Secretary Haaland are taking the Bureau in the wrong direction. Clearly, they are more interested in ballooning the DC bureaucracy than in making government work better for the people.” #### Contact: Katherine

U.S. SENATE — U.S. Senator Steve Daines today issued the following statement on President Biden’s vaccine mandates. “I’m strongly opposed to mandating COVID-19 vaccines, including for federal workers and private businesses in Montana. President Biden’s mandate is Washington at its worst and I have serious concerns with the constitutionality and lawfulness of this big government overreach.
