The Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux tribes will receive $297,041 to improve access to high-quality health care, a U.S. senator said Monday.
The Telehealth Network Grant Program through the Department of Health and Human Services focuses on improving access to quality health care services in rural, frontier and underserved communities.
They improve the quality of health care services; training of health care providers and increase health information available to health care providers,patients and families.
“Telehealth services are critical to ensuring access to quality health care services close to home,” Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mont., stated.
Daines said he recently secured funding to focus resources toward efforts and programs to help rural communities in the FY2017 Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill.
