Daines Announces $10 Million in Grants for Missoula International Airport, Grants for Bert Mooney and Ennis-Big Sky Airports

U.S. SENATE — U.S. Senator Steve Daines today announced over $10 million in grant funding from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for a new terminal and access road reconstruction at Missoula International Airport. He also announced FAA grants for Bert Mooney Airport in Butte, and Ennis-Big Sky Airport in Ennis. 

 “The new terminal at Missoula International Airport will be a game changer for travel in Western Montana, creating more jobs and generating more tourist dollars.” Daines stated. “I’m pleased to see Missoula, as well as Butte and Ennis receive these much-needed funds. Montanans should be able to count on reliable access to airports and infrastructure.” 

Background:

  • Missoula International Airport will receive $8,757,548 to cover the final design and construction of a new 145,000 square foot terminal building.

  • Missoula International will also receive $1,639,330 to reconstruct the airport access road.

  • Bert Mooney Airport will receive $683,965 to purchase new snow removal equipment.

  • Ennis-Big Sky Airport will receive $350,000 to construct a 4,000 square foot building to house snow removal equipment.
