COLUMBIA FALLS – U.S. Senator Steve Daines today toured Proof Research, a small firearms manufacturing business in Columbia Falls, that received funding under the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) to keep its doors open during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the tour, Daines was presented with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Spirit of Enterprise Award for his work supporting small businesses like Proof Research amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Daines was instrumental in securing funding for many Montana small businesses like Proof Research through the PPP, which provided 23,900 Montana businesses with $1.8 billion in loans.
Proof Research, a firearms manufacturer based in Columbia Falls, received a PPP loan that helped sustain its operations and its 70 employees through the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the conclusion of the tour, Daines was presented with the Spirit of Enterprise Award which recognizes Members of Congress who consistently supported pro-growth policies and committed to bipartisan leadership and constructive governing.
