Daines Introduces Bill to Rein in Activist Judges

U.S. SENATE – U.S. Senator Steve Daines today joined over 20 of his Republican colleagues to introduce a bill that would end unconstitutional judicial overreach. The “Judicial Relief Clarification Act of 2025” (JRCA) would limit federal court orders to parties directly before the court, ending the practice of universal injunctions and clarifying the constitutional role of the judicial branch.

“Our Founding Fathers were clear: there are three branches of government, and checks and balances are in place for a reason. One judge in one part of the country does not have unilateral control over the entire nation, and as activist judges work overtime to stop President Trump’s agenda, it’s clear we need this commonsense measure to prevent judicial overreach and stand up for the principles in the U.S. Constitution,” said Daines.
