“The Conservative Conservationist” Announces Free Entrance in Recognition of the Anniversary
U.S. SENATE – In honor of the third anniversary of the signing of his bipartisan “Great American Outdoors Act,” U.S. Senator Steve Daines released the following statement celebrating this landmark conservation bill’s lasting legacy on public lands in Montana and across the U.S. Daines also took the opportunity to remind Montanans that, in honor of the anniversary, all entrance fees for national parks and wildlife refuges will be waived tomorrow, August 4th, 2023.
“The Great American Outdoors Act is a huge win for conservation, for Montana and for America. Here in the Treasure State, our outdoor way of life is a critical part of our economy and what makes Montana the Last Best Place. We are so blessed to have exceptional public lands here in Montana and across the nation that help set the United States apart from the rest of the world, and as Montana’s voice in the United States Senate, I will always work to support and ensure access for Montanans and folks across the country to cherish them,” Daines said. “If you need a reminder of why our public lands are so important, just get outside and look around—in honor of the Great American Outdoors Act, all entrance fees for national parks and wildlife refuges will be waived tomorrow. So get outside and enjoy the great American outdoors!”
Background:
Daines’ “Great American Outdoors Act” provides $1.9 billion annually to address deferred maintenance on public lands and national parks. The bill also requires full, mandatory funding of the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) at $900 million.
