Daines, Peters Bipartisan Resolution to Designate June 2023 “Great Outdoors Month” Passes U.S. Senate

U.S. SENATE – U.S. Senators Steve Daines (R-Mont.), top Republican on the Senate National Parks Subcommittee, and Gary Peters’ (D-Mich.) bipartisan resolution designating June 2023 as “Great Outdoors Month” passed the United States Senate. 

“As a fifth-generation Montanan and avid sportsman, spending time in Montana national parks and public lands is just part of our way of life and we want to share that with the rest of the country,” said Daines.“I’m glad to designate June 2023 as ‘Great Outdoors Month’ to encourage folks to get out and explore everything the Treasure State has to offer.”

“Whether you’re traveling to watch the sun set over Lake Michigan or hike around Isle Royale, people visit from around the world to experience Michigan’s remarkable landscapes and precious natural resources,”said Peters.“I’m pleased we designated June as Great Outdoors Month to highlight the importance of preserving natural treasures like those we have in Michigan and across the country for future generations to enjoy.”
