U.S. SENATE – U.S. Senator Steve Daines today announced that his bill to keep Montana’s Bull Mountains Mine open passed the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee with bipartisan support.
Watch Daines’ remarks HERE.
“The Bull Mountains Mine near Roundup, Montana, is the lifeblood of Musselshell County, providing more than 250 jobs for hardworking Montanans and a massive boost to the local economy. I am glad to see my bill pass the ENR Committee and move one step closer to the President’s desk. I’ll always fight to support Made-In-Montana energy and protect Montana jobs,” said Daines.
Background:
Daines introduced S.362 in March 2025. It allows specific sections of federal minerals to be mined in order for the Bull Mountains Mine to keep operating. Daines has long been fighting for continued operation at the mine- in March, he spoke in the ENR Committee about its significance for Montana. Read more HERE.
