U.S. Senator Steve Daines today issued the following statement after Congressman Matt Rosendale announced he will not be seeking reelection.
“I’m thankful for Matt Rosendale’s long record of public service for the Treasure State. Starting in 2010 he was elected to the Montana State Senate and in 2014 he was chosen by his colleagues to be Senate Majority Leader. In 2016, he was elected statewide to serve as Montana’s State Auditor, and in 2020 he was elected to serve as Montana’s At-Large representative and most recently as the representative for Montana’s Second Congressional District. During his time in public service, he has been a strong advocate for fiscal responsibility, the Second Amendment and pushing back against federal overreach. I thank him for his service and wish him well as he gets to spend more time with his wife Jean and their grandchildren.”
