Daines Reintroduces Constitutional Amendment to Prohibit Burning the American Flag

We must always protect the sanctity of the American flag

U.S. SENATE – U.S. Senator Steve Daines today is continuing his fight to prohibit the physical desecration of the American flag. June 14 is Flag Day, and Daines honored this commemoration by reintroducing a constitutional amendment to criminalize burning the American flag.

“When we woke up today, we woke up in the greatest country on earth,” Daines said. “The American flag represents a beacon of hope and freedom. This freedom was built on the sacrifices of the brave men and women who carried its colors into battle to defend the United States of America. We must always protect the sanctity of the American flag.”
