U.S. SENATE – U.S. Senator Steve Daines today announced that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program will be directing $217,063.59 to the City of Great Falls and the East Missoula Rural Fire Department to support their fire departments’ ability to respond to fires and other public safety hazards.
“This critical funding will support our brave firefighters in Great Falls and Missoula as they respond to any fires or public safety emergencies,” Daines said. “I’m glad to have worked to secure this funding and I will continue working to our firefighters have the help they need to keep our communities safe.”
Of the $217,063.59, $145,272.73 will be directed to Great Falls and $71,790.86 will be directed to the East Missoula Rural Fire Department. For more information on the funding, click HERE.
The AFG program makes funds available directly to fire departments, State Fire Training Academies and non-affiliated EMS organizations to support enhanced fire emergency response capabilities to fires and other hazards. Daines voted to secure funding for the AFG program last year.
Background:
Earlier this month, Daines announced that the AFG program would be directing $196,496.64 to the fire departments in Manhattan and Missoula.
Last month, Daines announced that the AFG program would be directing $50,000 to support the local fire department in the City and County of Butte-Silver Bow.
