Daines Announces Over $20 Million in Funding for Montana Airports

U.S. SENATEU.S. Senator Steve Daines today announced over $20 million in grant funding for Montana airports throughout the state. As a member of the Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, Daines helped secure the critical funding through grants for airport improvements. 

“Montanans should be able to count on safe and reliable access to airports and infrastructure,” said Daines. “This funding will help bring our state’s infrastructure to the 21st century, and as a result will boost tourism, create jobs, and encourage visitors from around the nation to come see the treasures our great state has to offer.”

The funding is provided through the U.S. Department of Transportation. Details on each grant and its allocation is below: 

Lewistown Municipal: $2,120,148

This grant will go towards reconstructing the aviation apron and existing Taxiway as well as rehabilitating the Runway at the Lewistown Municipal Airport.

Bozeman Yellowstone International: $3,449,219

This grant will go towards extending two taxiways and expanding the aviation apron at the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport.

Ravalli County (Hamilton): $1,850,000

This grant will go towards installing weather reporting equipment and reconstructing the Taxiway at Ravalli County Airport.

Havre City-County: $1,609,375

This grant will go towards installing miscellaneous NAVAIDS and rehabilitating taxiway at the Havre City-County Airport.

Scobey: $1,298,781

This grant will go towards rehabilitating runway as well as runway lighting at the Scobey Airport.

Helena Regional: $2,126,019

This grant will go towards expanding the terminal building at the Helena Regional Airport.

Glacier Park International (Kalispell): 2 grants totaling $2,073,999

A $1,539,844 grant will go towards rehabilitating the aviation apron and the runway at Glacier Park International Airport.

A $534,155 grant will go towards updating the airport master plan study to show current and future needs of the airport.

Frank Wiley Field (Miles City): $144,000

This grant will go towards acquiring snow removal equipment and conducting an conducting an environmental study to evaluate any potential environmental impacts related to the proposed Runway 4/22 threshold shift at the Frank Wiley Field Airport.

Circle Town County: 2 grants totaling $257,670

A $187,200 grant will go towards rehabilitating two aviation aprons, two taxiways, and the runway at the Circle Town County Airport.

A $70,470 grant will go towards conducting a study to evaluate any environmental impacts related to the proposed rehabilitation of drainage culverts beneath Runway 12/30, airfield drainage improvements and channel routing alternatives at the Circle Town County Airport.

Billings Logan International: $2,017,594

This grant will go towards expanding the terminal building at the Billings Logan International Airport.

Bert Mooney (Butte): $190,824

This grant will provide federal funding for the Bert Mooney Airport associated with Butte, Montana.

Missoula International: $1,124,896

This grant will go towards constructing a new terminal building and rehabilitating runways at the Missoula International Airport.

Cut Bank International: $1,163,449

This grant will go towards rehabilitating the aviation apron at Cut Bank International Airport.

Mission Field (Livingston): $123,990

This grant will go towards updating the existing airport master plan study to show current and future needs of the Mission Field Airport.

Stevensville: $165,465

This grant will go towards reconstructing the aviation apron, and parallel taxiway as well as installing a new taxiway lighting system at the Stevensville Airport.

Sidney-Richland Regional: $99,000

This grant will go towards installing a runway vertical/visual guidance as well as rehabilitating runways, a taxiway, and an apron at the Sidney-Richland Regional Airport.

Turner: $130,965

This grant will go towards rehabilitating an apron, a runway and a taxiway as well as constructing a taxiway at the Turner Airport.

Lincoln: $95,400

This grant will go towards constructing a taxiway at the Lincoln Airport.
