U.S. SENATE – U.S. Senator Steve Daines today will vote for fiscal responsibility and against reckless spending.
“Raising the debt ceiling while massively increasing spending is deeply irresponsible,” said Daines. “It offends Montanan common sense and the basic principles of fiscal responsibility. I strongly oppose this deal.”
The budget deal:
- Increases discretionary spending by $300 billion.
- Only provides $100 billion in offsets.
- Raises the debt ceiling without reducing spending.
- Grows the size of government by 13 percent.
