WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Steve Daines today announced that he has been selected to serve on three subcommittees on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
Daines will serve on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Subcommittees on Energy; Public Lands, Forests and Mining; and Water and Power.
Daines noted that these subcommittees will help him work for commonsense policies that help create good-paying Montana energy jobs, protect Montanans’ access to public lands and keep energy prices low for hardworking Montana families.
As a member of the Subcommittee on Public Lands, Forests and Mining, Daines will also be at the forefront of the Senate’s work to develop comprehensive forest management reform legislation that would benefit all ten of Montana’s national forests.
“Montana is called the Treasure State for a reason – we’re blessed with abundant natural resources and unmatched public lands. It’s important that we have policies in place that protect and properly manage our state’s treasures, while also encouraging job creation through the responsible development of our energy and timber resources,” Daines stated. “As a member of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee and these subcommittees, I’ll work tirelessly for commonsense solutions that grow our economy and ensure that Montanans can enjoy our public lands for generations to come.”
Daines also serves on the Senate Committees on Appropriations, Commerce, Science and Transportation and Indian Affairs. Daines previously announced his subcommittee assignments for Appropriations and Commerce, Science and Transportation.
